Porcupine Throwback Thursday Father's Day Card

Here is a Father's Day card I made for my father-in-law and for My Creative Time's Throwback Thursday challenge.  This week's challenge is to make a card using any Lite cartridge and add some bling.  I used the Handy Man Lite cartridge and glitter and shimmer paint for the bling.  This card is oversize to allow for his failing eyesight.  Although you really can't see it well in this photo, I used shimmer paint on the wrench to give it some bling!.  It's very sparkly up close.  I made two cards of roughly the same design and the second card is a regular A2 size card.  For the wrench on it, I used silver glitter for the bling which works out much better on the smaller sized wrench which is cut from the Handy Man Cricut Lite cartridge.  Hope this inspires you for your Father's Day cards.

The wrench is cut from Handy Man Cricut Lite cartridge at 2.75 inches.  I used shimmer paint to give it a little bling.  Base card is cut using a rectangle 6.25 w x 8.09 high rotated 90 degrees from Plantin Schoolbook and an image welded on at approximately halfway from Elegant Edges 8.25 w x 7.87 high.  Emma from My Creative Time did a video showing how to do this without using the Elegant Edges cartridge.  I then cut the same Elegant Edge image slightly smaller to layer on top at 7.93 x 7.57 inches. The porcupine is cut from Campin' Critters and all layers are cut at 4.80 inches.  I used a Peachy Keen Face Stamp from the Medium set of Critter Faces.   The quote bubble is cut from Create a Critter at 2.20" x 1.25" and the shadow 2.50" x 1.52"

For the inside of the card I used Create a Critter to get the inside shape and made a shadow for it using my Gypsy cut at 3.96 and 3.75 inches.  I did alter the width to make it fit a little better.  You just have to play with it until it looks the way you want it to.  Of course, I used Emma's MCT My favorite saying stamp set for the inner sentiment.  Happy Father's Day is from a Stampin' Up hostess set.

The cuts for the smaller card are as follows:  Porcupine cut at 3.30", wrench is cut from Handy Man at 1.50" and the base card dimensions are 4.25 x 5.50 for the rectangle and 5.61 x 5.35 for the shaped image from Elegant Edges.  Here is a close-up view of the wrench on the A2 card.  You can see the glitter sparkle in this one.
Hope you enjoyed looking.
