Laura Memo Pad cover

Memo pad made using Ashlyn's Alphabet and Once Upon a Princess cartridges.  I used the cursive feature in Ashlyn's Alaphabet and the tag feature on Once Upon a Princess.  I welded the letters together using my Gypsy and also made the tag background using the Gypsy.  I started by making the tag an additional 1/4 inch bigger then took the size proportion off and manipulated the width smaller until it looked like it was the same distance all the way around the tag.  This memo pad fits a 5x7 Jr. size legal pad.  Cardstock is cut at 12 x 8 1/8".  Score at 5 1/8, 5 1/2 and       5 7/8" .  First and last scores should be folded on the mountain.  The center score should be folded in the valley.   While the center is folded, snip 3" from the top on the center fold to the first score line and repeat at 3 1/2".  This will become your pen holder.  Place a piece of sticky strip tape between the center scoreline and 5 7/8" scoreline on the inside of your memo folder ensuring no tape is placed between the cuts as this will allow your pen holder to pop out once the pieces are folded over and secured to each other.  Once secured, pop out the pen holder using your finger from the inside.  You are now ready to cover the top of the memo pad.  Cut a piece of matching cardstock 5 x 2 1/4".  Score at 7/8" and again at 1 1/8".  Secure to the top of the memo pad in the front and back.  Punch decorative edge along the right edge of the back cover, secure memo pad inside and you have a very nice cover for your legal pad.  This is not my original idea.  I scraplifted the idea from one I received.

.

To make the pen insert, first start with a Pentel RSVP pen, cut a strip of paper  3 1/4 by 3/4".  Roll up and place around the ink cartridge.

All paper supplies and ribbon are Stampin' Up.  The purple is a retired color as well as the cardstock printed sticker which was included in a Simply Scrappin' kit from several years ago.  The dotted purple paper is also from Stampin' Up and is available.  The color is concord crush.  The ribbon color is Old Olive.  In case you are wondering, I am not a Stampin' Up consultant.  I just love their product because everything coordinates.  If you have any questions, please feel free to email me.

Celebrate Card for My Pink Stamper Challenge

I have just completed my first challenge and finally created a blog spot.  I'm very excited!  I have been scrapbooking for since 1998.  I have had my cricut for the past two years.  I LOVE my cricut and have had so much fun with it.  I enjoy sharing my creations with others and teaching my friends how to use the Cricut and Gypsy.  It's very rewarding for me.  This card was created using Stampin' Up products and the Paper Lace Cricut Cartridge.  I hope you enjoy it.  It will be a birthday card for my girlfriend.
