You're gold pop-out diamond fun fold card

I've made another pop-out diamond fun fold card for you today.  I love this fold, it looks like it should be so hard but comes together so easily!  It adds an additional wow factor to your handmade card.  I wanted to showcase the Good Luck stamp set as Stampin' Up! rarely gives us a stamp set for St. Patrick's Day.  I suggest you get it as soon as possible before it sales out.  Once Valentine's Day is over, it will start to sell quickly.  To see how I've put my card together, be sure to pop on over to my YouTube channel for the video tutorial.  You can find it easily by clicking this link.

Ink Pads: Garden Green, Memento Tuxedo Black & VersaMark

I hope you have enjoyed this card.  It was the make-n-take project for our monthly crop day yesterday and the ladies all loved it.  I hope you give it a try!  My original inspiration for the fun fold came from Susan Campfield.

Until next time; be happy, good health to you and happy stamping!

A Stampin' Up! sketch card with the 2025 Crafting Advent Calendar stamps

I recently received the new 12 Days of Crafting Advent Calendar for 2025 by Stampin' Up!  I wanted to see what it was all about.  My friend Tracy suggested I open one window each day and try to make a card with the contents.  Today is Day 1 and I started with just the stamps.  The stamps are all occasion stamps, even though the box itself is decorated for Christmas.  I thought I would make a card for a December birthday, using just the stamps and some additional cardstock/DSP.  Stampin' Up! sent out some sketches to those of us who participated in World Card Making Day last Saturday.  I decided to incorporate one of those sketches into my project for today.

You will find the video tutorial for this card over on my YouTube channel.

Measurements and Supplies:
12 Days of Crafting Advent Calendar 167335 (just the stamps for today)
The Right Words 165316 (for inside sentiment)
2 pieces 1 7/8" x 5" (different patterns, I used the front and back of one sheet for mine)
Old Olive two-tone cardstock 2 5/8" x 2 7/8" (2 pieces, use one side light and one side dark)
two pieces 1/2" x 3 5/8" for inside (one light side, one dark)
Basic White cardstock for stamping images & inside layer 3 5/8" x 4 7/8"
Thick Basic White cardstock for card base 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored in center at 4 1/4"
nail buffing block or light sandpaper
Ink Pads: Pool Party, Pretty in Pink, Real Red, Cherry Cobbler, Darling Duckling

I hope you like this first project made with the 12 Days of Crafting Advent Calendar.  Be sure to check my Facebook page for the next projects.  To purchase your Crafting Advent Calendar, click this link, it will take you directly to the product page.  Of course, you can always shop for any Stampin' Up! supplies by clicking on the shopping cart in the upper right.

Sunflower Love & Courage friend card

My card today is very near and dear to my heart.  I've used the Making a Difference stamp set for 2025, Love & Courage, to make this card for my friend.  Although, mine is specifically pink, this set can be used for any type of cancer and made into any of the colors that represent the different cancers.  I think it's a must have in your collection.  Who doesn't know someone who is or has fought the battle?  Sometimes a little encouragement is all it takes to make someone's day when they aren't feeling great.  You can watch the video tutorial on how I've put my card together over on my YouTube channel.

Supplies and Measurements:
Love & Courage ($3 from each stamp set sold goes to breast cancer non-profits.)
Sunflower 3D embossing folder 166145 (currently low inventory as I write this)
Pack Your Bags Twine three-pack 165582
Ink Pads: Strawberry Slush, Early Espresso
Early Espresso cardstock for card base 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored in center at 4 1/4"
Pretty in Pink two-tone cardstock, 4" x 5 1/4"
Basic White for stamping, inside layer 3 5/8" x 4 7/8" & sentiment strip 7/8" x 4 1/4"
sanding block (non-Stampin' Up!)
Strawberry Slush & Pretty in Pink gems 165615
Medium Basic White envelope

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I sure hope you will consider adding this very important stamp set to your collection.  Stay tuned, I have more cards coming with it.

Until next time; be happy, good health to you and happy stamping!

Thanks a Ton Hippo card with Whale Done

This is the final card of my watercoloring technique class from my live on Tuesday, 7-26-22.  It's just a really fun card that shows off a variety of products and coloring techniques.  You can watch how I created this look by watching my YouTube video here:

The focal image background is made using a stamped image from the watercolor stamp set for the sun, then I masked the sun and ink blended Orchid Oasis at the top and balmy blue ink at the bottom.  The sentiment comes from Whale done and complements this image beautifully.
For the inside of my card, I used ink blending to add balmy blue to the cardstock, then stamped images from Whale done in Orchid Oasis and So Saffron.  The sentiment is also from Whale Done.

Supplies and measurements:
Card base: Balmy Blue cardstock 5 1/2 x 8 1/2” scored in center at 4 1/4”
Embossed layer: Orchid Oasis cardstock 4 x 5 1/4 embossed with Seashells 3D folder

Annual Catalog which was released last week.  If you would like to order any of the products I've used today, you can shop my online store by clicking on the shopping cart in the upper right corner.

For the background on this card, I embossed the front of the card base with the Fern 3D embossing folder which is part of this suite of products.  You can order the entire suite of products by using just one ordering code 158805!  I love how Stampin' Up! makes it easy to shop a suite of products.  This particular suite includes the stamps, dies, DSP and Fern 3D embossing folder.  For this card, I've used everything in the suite and I love how it turned out.

Here's a quick look at the inside of my card.  I chose to leave out the sentiment and add it later when I know who the recipient will be and for which occasion I need it for, as this card can definitely be used for many.

We Must Celebrate diaper card

Isn't this baby shower invite or gift card just adorable!  I love how it turned out.  I got the instructions for cutting the card to look like a diaper from a video I found on YouTube by Melanie Muenchinger.  It's entitled How to make a Simple 3D Diaper Card-No template needed.

I cut the Pool Party cardstock as instructed in the video by cutting the bottom left corner at approximately 2" from the bottom and roughly 1 3/4" from the left side on the diagonal.  Then using that cut piece on the right side as a template to make both sides even.  I then ran  the cut card base through the big shot with the Hexagons Dynamic Textured Impressions (143231) embossing folder.  I ran the cut corner pieces through separately making sure to put them in the folder the same direction as the card base to match the pattern.  The bunny, snail and mushrooms are stamped on whisper white card stock with Momento black ink and are from the stamp set We Must Celebrate (145898) which can be found in the 2018 Occasions catalog.  I colored them with my Stampin' Blends markers then fussy cut them out.  The tree stump is from Always and Forever (143814), but you could also use the tree stump from Hedgehugs (145879).  I stamped the tree stump, then cut the bottom off as I didn't want the whole stump, just the top of it.   I little bit of ribbon on each "fold" where the diaper pins would go and my card is finished.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you are inspired to go do something creative.  Please leave me a comment, I'd love to hear from you.

You've Got This with Brusho

I designed this card for a make-n-take for my last workshop.  The ladies had a lot of fun and each one was quite different.  This was my first card made using the new Brusho Crystal Colour (144101) which are available in the Occasions catalog. I first stamped the flower image with Versamark (102283) ink on a piece of watercolor paper (122959).  I then added copper embossing powder (141636) and heat set it with our heat tool (129053).  I added yellow Brusho crystals in the center, tapping lightly on the bottom of the canister.  Around that, I added gamboge or orange and then added red around the outside.  For the leaves, I first put yellow down and topped with moss green.  After putting down the crystals, I took my aqua painter (103594) and, starting in the center, added a little water and "painted" the colors cleaning my brush  as I went so as not to mix all the colors together.  For this technique, a very little water goes a long way and gives you a nice vibrant color.  I set this aside to dry.  After a few minutes, I used the lowest setting on my heat tool to set the color.  I then added a piece of copper trim ribbon to the bottom of the watercolor paper.  I tied a bow with the copper trim and used a glue dot to secure it to the ribbon across the bottom.  Any stray dry crystals can be blown away as the crystals require water to activate the color.

This piece was mounted to a piece of real read card stock.  I put a piece of wood texture designer series paper through my big shot (143263) with a new embossing folder which is only available for free for a limited time as part of the Blossoming Basket bundle (147505) through Sale-a-Bration which ends on March 31, 2018.  You can choose this bundle for free when placing an order of $100 or more.  Stampin' Up has let us know this embossing folder (which is called the Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Impressions embossing folder) will be available for purchase when the 2018-2019 catalog is released in June.  I added the basket weave embossed piece to a card base of Early Espresso.  I did not put a sentiment on this card so it can be used for any occasion I need a card for.  I think this card is very versatile and would be great for just about anything.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today and taking some time from your busy day.  I hope you are inspired to try Brusho if you haven't already.  It was a lot of fun and I know the ladies in the class had a great time and were very pleased with their results and how easy it was to use.

If you would like to order any of the supplies I used today, please click on the shopping cart to the right.  I'd love to earn your business.  Please leave me a comment, I'd like to know what you think or if you have any questions.  Happy stamping!

Lovely as a Tree Starlight card

This card is simple, but stunning I think.  It uses the very old Lovely as a Tree stamp set, along with the new Star of Light stamp set from the 2016 holiday catalog.  Lovely as a Tree is one of my all time favorite stamp sets and can be used for just about any occassion you need a card for.  Today, I have used it for a Christmas card.

I first masked off an area using Post-It tape and sticky notes to form the rectangle for my focal image area.  I then sponged on Night of Navy and Marina Mist inks into the area.  I stamped the cluster of trees from Lovely as a Tree on top of the sponging.  The sentiment is stamped in Night of Navy ink and comes from the Star of Light stamp set.  It is one of my favorites from the holiday catalog.  It has many wonderful sentiments along with the images.  It is a large stamp set and also has a coordinating set of framelits to go along with it. Today,  I just used the sentiment and one of the small stars.  I did smudge a little ink below the sentiment, but didn't have time to redo the card.  I embossed the small star in gold to the left of the center tree.

Supply list:
Night of Navy cardstock and ink
Whisper White cardstock
Lovely as a Tree 128655 wood mount or 127793 clear mount
Star of Light. 142110 (can be purchased in a bundle with Starlight Thinlits 141840 to save 10%. Bundle product code 143508
Stamping sponge 141337
Momento black ink

Petals and Posies Fabulous Fall Shaker Card

I had so much fun making this card.  I love the colors and fall is my favorite time of year.  To make this card, I started with a piece of whisper white cardstock.  I sponged on crushed curry, cherry cobbler, rich razzleberry and Cajun craze inks in random places blending as I went.  I then stamped the leaf image from Thoughtful Branches  which is only available through the end of August 2016 (143539), and the smallest leaf images from Paisleys & Posies (142196) in Versamark ink (102283) and embossed them with white embossing powder (109132).  I used the Large Letters Framelits dies (141712) to cut the letters from the finished piece.  I then used a piece of window sheet (114323) adhered to the back to close the letters.  Some foam adhesive strips on the back (141825) made it easy to form the basis for my shaker card front.  I punched some small leaves from an old leaf border punch I had on hand to fill the letters.

The sentiment is from the Thoughtful Banners stamp set (141614) and cut with the Duet Banner Punch (141483).  These items can be purchased in a bundle to save 10% (142330).  I stamped the banner and sentiment in early espresso ink (126974) and mounted the shaker card front onto a piece of early espresso cardstock.  (119686).
